More than 3000 people joined in the festivities and celebrated being part of the Australian community at the city’s Australia Day event last weekend.
City of Gosnells Mayor David Goode said the Australia Day breakfast provided by the Rotary Club of Gosnells, was a great way to start the day.
“Also the city’s Bush Fire Brigade showed some of our youngest community members what it takes to be a volunteer firefighter,” he said.

One of the biggest highlights was the splash zone. The inflatable obstacle course along Federation Parade provided plenty of fun and much-needed relief from the heat.
There were also native animal displays along with stage entertainment and roving performers.
Errrol the Emu and the bouncy kangaroos on stilts were crowd favourites. Children also enjoyed craft activities, making koala cookies and trying their hand at sand art.
