Thousands of people flooded the Armadale city centre last Friday night in anticipation for the annual Christmas parade and Carols by Candlelight.
A colourful procession filled with performers from 20 different community groups took place in Jull Street before Santa made his way to awaiting crowds at Memorial Park.
The festivities featured a rock n’ roll themed Carols by Candlelight, which included songs, dances and thousands of electronic candles waving in the starlight.
Mayor Henry Zelones said it was a brilliant atmosphere and fantastic turn-out with about 7000 people in attendance.
“In the spirit of Christmas the famous cheesy bread sold by event partner Sizzler raised much needed funds for the Salvation Army and LED candles raised money for the award winning Armadale City Concert Band,” he said.
Non-perishable food items such as tinned foods, long life milk, cereals and coffee were also collected at the event for the Salvation Army’s annual Hope Appeal food bank.
